I found my childhood backpack this week. There, tucked away in the attic, was the familiar pink Strawberry Shortcake bag I used to carry, filled with drawings, paintings, scribbles, and writings made from my younger self. The drawings of my parents with blue hair, journal writings where I misspelled my middle name, everything a bit messy and imperfect. I remembered how it felt to create these things with complete freedom and joy. Not for perfection or to be critiqued. Just for the love of creating. For myself, and my first audience of family and loved ones.

This time capsule served as a reminder of why Biti Bibi was started. From these past 6 months, we’ve realized how good things truly deserve time, deserve to simmer and develop in flavor.
Starting Biti Bibi was never meant to be a race. It’s a patchwork of inspiration pulled from the tastes and memories stored in our family kitchens, the feeling we get from passing our childhood playground, the scraps left over from arranging the week’s grocery store bouquet, the making of our grandma’s home remedy tea when we feel sick. It’s the physical encompassing of our loves, our lives, our families– our worlds.
Just like those childhood drawings, we want Biti Bibi to be treasured. As we prepare our first launch at the end of this month, the path has changed a bit and some plans have shifted.
Starting a business comes with growing pains, but if you look at them in the right light, they’re hidden pockets to breathe and unfold slowly with intention.
In the end, we’re not rushing to be part of a trend or keeping with the same pace of the world; we’re building a rhythm of our own. A rhythm that allows us to listen, to pivot when needed. It means this launch, and every piece after, is more alive, more sure, and full of more love than first imagined. We hope Biti Bibi becomes a brand that feels like memories you wish to keep.
Take this as your gentle reminder while you’re building– whether that’s a career, a home, a business– allow things to change and shift. The end result is sweeter. Thank you for being here as we grow.
With love,
Vivian (Bibi)
